In the wake of security threats on Israelis in Sri Lanka, special security measures have been implemented, and search operations conducted by the Police and STF at the Pallekale International Cricket Stadium ahead of Sri Lanka's practice session.

The third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and West Indies is set to take place tomorrow, with both teams scheduled to hold practice sessions today at the stadium.

Meanwhile, security at several hotels in Kandy providing accommodation to Israeli tourists has been stepped up by the police.

Police have also taken steps to obtain daily reports on foreign tourists seeking accommodation in hotels within the Kandy police division.

The special security plan has been implemented under the instructions of SSP Kandy Division Anuruddha Bandaranayake. He said that, in addition to the security provided to the hotels, continuous police patrols are in operation.
