Showers to continue due to wave-type atmospheric disturbance: Met. Department

Colombo, Dec. 15 (Daily Mirror)- The showery weather condition is expected to continue further due to the wave-type atmospheric disturbance, the Meteorology Department said.

The Department said showers will occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m. while heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Western and Northern Provinces.

The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
