Sinopec increases fuel prices, excluding Petrol 92

Sinopec Energy Lanka announced today that its Executive Director has approved a revised fuel pricing structure, and they have released their updated fuel retail prices, effective immediately.

There will be no change in the price of a litre of Petrol 92, which will continue to be sold at Rs. 358.

However, the price of a litre of Petrol 95 has been increased by Rs. 6, bringing the new price to Rs. 420. The price of a litre of Lanka Auto Diesel has been increased by Rs.10 with the new price set at Rs. 348, while Lanka Super Diesel has seen a substantial increase of Rs. 61, resulting in a new price of Rs. 417.

These pricing adjustments are applicable to all Sinopec franchise filling stations across the country and will remain in effect until the next pricing release from Sinopec Lanka.

Sinopec Lanka, a subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), officially began its operations in Sri Lanka on September 1, 2023.

Sinopec Lanka was granted a 20-year license to operate 150 fuel stations and provided a pump discount of Rs. 3.00 per litre for both petrol and diesel last month.

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) and Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC) have not yet announced the revised fuel prices.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
