Colombo, September 24 (Daily Mirror) - An Extraordinary Gazette (2403/05) notification has been issued, announcing the resignation of six Provincial Governors from office, effective September 22.
Accordingly, Central Province Governor Lalith U. Gamage, North-Central Province Governor Mahipala Herath, Southern Province Governor Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana, Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman, Sabaragamuwa Province Governor Navin Eranjan Dissanayake and Uva Province Governor Ravindra Anura Vidanagamage resigned from their positions.
The Governors resigned following the 2024 Presidential election results and the declaration of a new President-elect of the country.
