The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) has launched a bidding process to select a destination management company (DMC) for 2024/2025, to oversee familiarisation tours aimed at promoting Sri Lanka as a leading tourist destination.

The selected DMC will handle promotional tours for the international media, influencers, film location scouts and other key tourism stakeholders, on behalf of the SLTPB. The bidding process will follow the National Competitive Bidding Method, in line with the National Procurement Guidelines of 2006, according to the SLTPB’s Department Procurement Committee.

To qualify, the companies must be registered inbound travel agencies with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority for at least 10 years, up to and including 2024. Additionally, the bidders should have established partnerships with major international tour operators in key markets and demonstrated experience in managing VIP delegations, international media and influencers for government agencies.
Further criteria include membership in the local tourism associations and recognition from the local or international tourism awards.

The interested parties can access the bidding documents on the SLTPB’s website and obtain a full set of documents by submitting a written request and a non-refundable Rs.20,000 fee. The completed bids, along with an unconditional bid security of Rs.500,000 from a registered A-class commercial bank, are due on September 30, 2024.
