Three Sri Lankan fishermen missing after collision with ship

Colombo ,September 4 (Daily Mirror) - Three Sri Lankan fishermen are reported missing after a local fishing trawler collided with a passing ship approximately 270 nautical miles (501 kms) off the coast of Galle.

Police said the local fishing trawler was carrying seven crew members at the time of the accident. 

They said four fishermen were rescued by the fishing trawler 'Lasantha 01' and they are being brought ashore while three others remain missing. 

The missing individuals are aged 28, 43 and 52, and are residents of the Kosgoda area.

Search operations have been launched to locate the missing fishermen, and the Galle Harbor Police and the Sri Lanka Navy are conducting further investigations into the incident.
