Colombo, October 9 (Daily Mirror) - A three-month grace period has been granted from October 8 for Sri Lankans living in Lebanon who have not registered themselves with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) or have not updated their registrations.
Gamini Senarath Yapa, the SLBFE's Additional General Manager of International Affairs, said that approval for registration and updates was given on October 4.
He also said that many Sri Lankans in Lebanon have yet to register or update their information with the SLBFE.
The Sri Lankan Ambassador in Lebanon had informed the SLBFE about this issue and requested assistance for those who are unregistered or need to update their details.
Sri Lankans with expired visas or those without valid visas are advised to visit the Lebanese Embassy with a valid passport, visa and employment agreement provided by their employers.
So far, 32 Sri Lankans have reported to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon for registration, Yapa said.
