Two arrested for attempting to buy polling cards at Rs. 5,000 in Beruwala

Two persons had been arrested by the Beruwala Police for attempting to buy polling cards in Beruwala, Police said.

Residents had informed the Police that four men who had arrived in a car were attempting to buy official polling cards for Rs. 5,000 each last night.

Accordingly, the Police had arrested two suspects.

“However, the other two suspects have fled the scene and one of the suspects is said to be a former Secretary of a Minister,” Police said.

The Police also recovered Rs. 38,000 in cash from the suspect’s possession.
