At least eleven persons including 10 women have been arrested for operating brothels under the guise of Ayurveda Spas in Mount Lavinia yesterday.
Police said six women including the manager of a brothel were arrested during a raid by the Mount Lavinia Crimes Unit at Ratmalana for operating a brothel.
The suspects aged 25 and 41, were identified as residents of Meegahathenna, Panadura, Wakwella, Moratuwa, Madolsima and Hambantota.
Meanwhile, the police also raided another brothel in Ratmalana and arrested five suspects including four women for operating the brothel under the guise of a spa.
The 49-year-old manager and women aged 25 and 45, identified as residents of Ratmalana, Palugaswewa, Pitabeddara, Poddala and Bandarawela.
Police said the suspects would be produced in the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court today.
