Receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be made mandatory by early next year, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
He told reporters yesterday that it would take at least three months to finalise this.
“The legal procedure on this is being arranged. There is no doubt and logic that everyone should get both the doses,” he highlighted.
“We are contemplating to introduce an app rather than a vaccine card as a proof that one has been administered with both the doses,” he added.
Minister Rambukwella announced in Parliament in early November that Attorney General has given the green light and there is no legal barrier to make the COVID-19 vaccination certificate mandatory when visiting public places. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
