Two supporters of a former Minister were arrested after they visited the member of an organised crimes group, Sanjeewa Kumara alias Ganemulla Sanjeewa who was arrested recently.
Police sources said they were arrested on suspicion that they maintain links with the underworld.
Police sources also said that the former minister is influencing high-ranking police officers and politicians on behalf of Sanjeewa Kumara alias Ganemulla Sanjeewa.
Ganemulla Sanjeewa, who had arrived in Sri Lanka from Nepal with a forged passport was arrested recently. (DSB)
