Two suspects arrested over Midigama shooting

Midigama, Sep 20 (Daily Mirror) - Two suspects were arrested over the shooting incident at Midigama in Matara where a person was killed and two others injured when two men opened fire at a fish stall yesterday.

Police said the assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the stall. The 38-year-old owner, a resident of Goviyapana, succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital. 

The STF arrested two persons yesterday in possession of 11.5 grams of heroin along with a three-wheeler in the Midigama area.

It was revealed that one of the suspects had provided accommodation to the gunmen while the other suspect had provided transport to the suspects following the shooting.

The arrested suspects, aged 30 and 38  are identified as residents of the Kotte and Agulugaha areas.
