Colombo, Oct 24 (Daily Mirror) - Two suspects allegedly connected to the planning of an attack in the Arugam Bay area have been arrested, police said.

They said the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) arrested the suspects.

Sri Lankan security forces have been alerted by Indian intelligence agencies of a potential attack on Israelis in the Arugam Bay area.

It was reported that two Sri Lankans, one of whom is reportedly based in Iraq, were ready to execute the attack. Indian intelligence agencies had supplied Sri Lankan authorities with all relevant information, including the names of the individuals involved.

The US Embassy in Sri Lanka issued a travel advisory yesterday morning, preventing its nationals from travelling to Arugam Bay until further notice.

However, police said that police and security forces had already taken security measures over the threats even before the US embassy had issued the advisory.
