Minister of State for the Commonwealth, the United Nations and South Asia Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon raised concerns on the impact of forced cremations of COVID-19 victims on faith groups, justice & accountability in Sri Lanka ahead of the upcoming Human Rights Council.
The UK Minister conveyed this to Foreign Affairs Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in a telephone conversation.
“The UK & Sri Lanka are collaborating on climate change & trade. In my call with @DCRGunawardena today, I also raised concerns ahead of the upcoming @UN Human Rights Council, including the impact of forced cremations of #COVID19 victims on faith groups + justice & accountability,” Tariq Ahmad tweeted.
