UNICEF keen to enhance child nutrition in Sri Lanka

Colombo, Dec 17 (Daily Mirror) -  Christian Skoog, the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), discussed the outcomes of a survey and research aimed at enhancing child nutrition in Sri Lanka.

Skoog highlighted this at a meeting held with Secretary of Health, Dr. Palitha Mahipala.

Following the completion of the project, a comprehensive report is to be presented to the Secretary of Health. 

Skoog also underscored the importance of seeking the Secretary’s advice and guidance to effectively implement the forthcoming initiatives.

The meeting also featured discussions on collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Women's and Children's Affairs, the Ministry of Education and other relevant government institutions to develop a formal work programme. This joint initiative aims to promote early childhood development in Sri Lanka.
