Governor of the Uva Province Anura Widanamage resigned from his position with immediate effect.
A letter in this regard was sent to the Presidential Secretariat.
In his letter, he said that the decision was taken in view of the 2024 Presidential election results and the declaration of a new President-elect of the country.
