Vote for wise, courageous leader: Catholic Bishops’ Conference

Colombo, August 26 (Daily Mirror) -  The Catholic Bishops' Conference in Sri Lanka urged the voters to elect a wise and courageous leader who can bring about the long awaited system change and eradicate corruption and one who will introduce a new political culture.

“The necessity to change the political culture that drives people to crave for positions of power and authority for their selfish interests and agendas at the expense of the people’s welfare and development of the country needs to be emphasised. The nation needs a wise and courageous leader to make the long awaited system change to eradicate corruption and its real ills," a statement signed by the President of the Sri Lanka Catholic Bishops' Conference, Bishop Harrold Anthony Fernando and Secretary Bishop J.D. Anthony Jayakody said.
