The entire education system must change, but it is not appropriate to seek technical solutions to the challenges and make unpopular political decisions, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
While attending the opening of the language laboratory of the Sri Lanka-Korea National Vocational Training Institute, the minister said that the technical solutions should be found to face the challenges with the support of the institutions such as the Vocational Training Authority (VTA) while combining General Education, Vocational Education and Higher Education.
"The current economic crisis was caused by the continued borrowing to cover a wide budget deficit in recent times, which did not contribute to the productive economy," Minister Premajayantha said.
We should not be satisfied with the ample labour resources alone, but to see the new technology and we should use the technology in a friendly manner to achieve the sustainable global development goals in 2030, the Minister said.
