Colombo , Octomber 1 (Daily Mirror) - Nawa Sri Lanka Nidahas Pakshaya leader Kumara Welgama’s death was caused by the injuries he sustained during the commotion on May 9, 2022, a former MP said.
“Welgama sustained serious injuries when those who launched the Aragalaya assaulted him severely on May 9, 2022. Welgama fell ill and had to be hospitalised from time to time because of the injuries he received during the Aragalaya,” former MP Piyal Nishantha said during his funeral on Monday evening.
The former MP was a member of the Opposition at the time he came under attack on May 9, 2022.
