Wild elephant attacks van: Man killed

A 39-year-old man was killed and ten others including two women injured when a wild elephant attacked a van near the Meeoya Bridge on the Puttalam-Anuradhapura Road early this morning, Police said.

They said the injured were admitted to the Puttalam Hospital.

The deceased, Velayudhan Dharmaraj, is a resident of Jaffna.
