A government of theirs would bring Arjuna Mahendran to Sri Lanka in the same manner Kumaran Pathmanathan (KP) was brought in, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) Leader MP Udaya Gammanpila said today.
He said they would locate former Central Bank Governor Mahendran no matter where he was hiding in.
“We will bring him in under one of our governments and take legal action against him,” he said.
“He will face the same fate befallen on KP. We would like to ask him to keep the Sri Lankan identity card with him when he goes to sleep because when he wakes up, he could be in Sri Lanka," he told a news briefing.
He also commented on the measures taken by the Attorney General to request the Singaporean Government to extradite Mahendran.
“We have great respect for our AG's efficiency and independence. However, on the government's side, this is an attempt of closing the stable door once the horse has bolted," he said.
He accused the government of failing to arrest Mahendran when he was in Sri Lanka. "Mahendran threatened to reveal politicians behind the bond scam if he was arrested. Therefore, the government leaders carefully sent him abroad," he said. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
