Will launch ’Clean Sri Lanka’ project to make Sri Lanka cleanest in Asian region: President

Colombo, October 20 (Daily Mirror)- The Government will launch a special project 'Clean Sri Lanka' aiming to make Sri Lanka the cleanest country in the Asian region, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.

Speaking at an election rally in Katunayake, he said a special Presidential Task Force (PTF) will be set up for this purpose.

He said the project aims to maintain cleanliness in the country where steps will be taken to ensure clean bus stands, railway stations, buses, trains, lavatories, rivers, beaches etc.

He said a contributory fund will be introduced to raise funds where Sri Lankan expatriate workers who contributed to forming the government could also contribute to the fund.

The President said the project will be launched after the general elections.
