A Bollywod thriller on SL war to be released in Aug

'Madras Cafe' - a Bollywood spy thriller based on the civil war that ravaged Northern Sri Lanka is set to be released on August 23.

The movie, directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by John Abraham recreates the infamous civil war in Sri Lanka, where Abraham portrays the role of a RAW agent on a covert mission in Jaffna, backed by Indian forces. Also starring is Nargis Fakhri, who plays the role of an international journalist. Sri Lankan beauty queen turned Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is also said to play a lead role in the movie.

The film had been earlier titled Jaffna and is said to touch upon some sensitive issues. It had been shot in Sri Lanka as well as in Malaysia, Thailand and the South Indian city of Chennai. (PTI/IndiaWest)
