The Railway Department said about 15 trains had to be cancelled this morning since most of the engine drivers and guards had not turned up for duty today.

Railway sources said an announcement was sent by the Railways General Manager to all drivers and guards today asking them to report for duty.

A spokesman for the Railway Department said trains were operated without any delay by this evening and assured normal services would be in operation by tomorrow.(AS)
