Air Force rescues flood victims

The Sri Lanka Air Force rescued eleven persons who were stranded due to floods in the Tampitiya and Bogamuyaya area in Ampara, Air Force spokesman Group Captain Janaka Nanayakkara said.
An SLAF MI-17 helicopter is currently distributing dry rations and other needs in the Thoppigala area in Batticaloa that was heavily affected by rain. The SLAF is using MI-17 and Bell 212 helicopters to assist the flood victims, he said.
