The Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) today expressed their concern over an alleged abnormality in the 2012 G.C.E. A/L results, claiming that the results are indicating signs of a possible complication in university entrance that could pave way to the promotion of private universities.

IUSF Convener Sanjeewa Bandara speaking to Daily Mirror online said, the pass rate of commerce stream this year has increased quite abnormally and there are close to 4000 candidates who have obtained 3As in the commerce stream. During previous years, even those who obtained two As and one B could enter university whereas this year, it seems even those who have three As will not be able to enter a state university due to restrictions in admissions.” (LP)
