CEB powers Norochcholai

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has taken over control of the Norochcholai power plant from the Chinese company, informed sources said.
The China National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corporation (CMEL) carried out the construction of the power plant and with the completion of the first phase; the CEB has taken over the plant.
On March 22, this year the first phase of the Norochcholai Coal power plant to supply 300 MW of electricity to the national grid was declared open.
