A notice has been issued on Southern Provincial Council Minister D.V. Upul to appear before the Bandarawela Magistrate's Court on October 6.

Police media spokesmen Ajith Rohana said the Minister was noticed over an incident of assaulting a person and shooting in the air on the Bandarawela-Diyatalawa Road on September 20.
