The newly arrived consignment of eggs and chicken will be released to the market on Monday after the quarantine report is received for the shipment, Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) officials told Daily Mirror online
CAA officials added that the shipment which arrived on Friday night will be cleared and distributed island wide on Monday after the quarantine report is received.
The Minister of Consumer Affairs Johnston Fernando informed Parliament earlier this month that chicken and eggs will be imported during the festive season to ensure that there is no shortage or price hike for these items. 2500 tones of chicken and 50 million eggs will be imported, the Minister said.
