Father arrested for torture

A father suspected of torturing his two daughters aged seven and twelve by burning their lips with a beedi was taken into police custody for questioning in Girandurukotte. 

The father has said that he burnt the lips of his daughters after seeing them smoking beedi butts discarded by him, after smoking. The two children have been admitted to the Giradurukotte Hospital for treatment. (PR)
