Four people allegedly involved in the attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in 2009 have been arrested, Capital city police officer (CCPO) Aslam Tareen said on Tuesday.

Tareen said the accused were from the Toba Tek Singh, Karachi and Bahawalpur areas and had acquired weapons from Faisalabad.

He added that more 60 people are involved in the terrorist group, and an operation was underway to arrest them.

The attack on the Sri Lanka team on March 3, 2009 led to Pakistan being stripped of its quota of World Cup matches.
