Fourteen Sri Lankan asylum seekers who allegedly sailed to Australia in a hijacked boat from Kudawella returned this morning in a special flight.
Airport sources said that the suspects including a woman and three children are to be handed over to the Tangalle Police for further investigations.
The group was detected and intercepted northwest of the Cocos Islands by Australian authorities late on Thursday and deported back to Sri Lanka.
