Police are on the trail of several individuals and groups carrying out a racket by providing rooms in ‘unoccupied’ houses to underage couples in Colombo suburbs where private tuition classes are held.
Police sources said these individuals provided such houses and rooms mostly to young school going couples who attended these private tuition classes.
They said some of the couples sneaked out of these mass and group tuition classes before the classes began and came back when the classes were over to be taken by their parents.
Police said these underage couples fell prey to such rackets because they did not have to provide their identities.
The groups have reportedly arranged abandoned houses in the Piliyandala and Nugegoda areas for these school going couples on an hourly basis.
However police said no arrests had been made so far.
