The New Zealand High Commissioner in India will represent the New Zealand Prime Minister at the ICC World Cup 2011 semi-final match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Director General President’s Media Bandula Jayasekara told Daily Mirror online.

He added that the New Zealand Premier was in fact delighted to receive an invitation from President Mahinda Rajapaksa to attend the World Cup semi-final match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand at the R. Premadasa Stadium, but was unable to visit Sri Lanka as he had just arrived in Wellington after visiting the Provinces and had no time.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa had earlier extended an invitation to New Zealand Prime Minister John Key to witness the world cup cricket semi-final encounter between Sri Lanka and New Zealand tomorrow. (Daily Mirror online)
