Heroin peddler sentenced to death

A man found guilty of peddling heroin at Delgahawatte in Mulleryawa is today sentenced to death by a Colombo Court.

High Court Judge Padman Surasena found the accused D.L. Pathmasiri guilty of the charge of peddling and selling 523 grams of heroin on September 28, 2003.

The other accused Roy Ratnam who was also indicted by the Attorney General on the same charge was acquitted as the charges could not be proved. Senior State Council Shanaka Silva prosecuted.
