Interpol has issued a Red Notice for the arrest of the former Parliament Employees’ Thrift Society (PETS) Treasurer who is wanted by the CID over a massive fraud worth millions of rupees reported to have been committed with the assistance of two other office bearers.

The fraud came to light when the new committee elected on September 17 last year asked their predecessors to produce the statements of accounts and other relevant documents pertaining to their term of office.

However the main suspect and his accomplices have so far failed to hand them over to the new committee while the former treasurer Pushpakumara Dharmadasa has not reported to work and is said to be in hiding.(SD)
