Int’l University to house 50,000 students

The Minister of Civil Aviation Services Priyanakara Jayaratne said the government was planning to establish a fully fledged international university in Karuwalagaswewa soon. Addressing the public at the opening ceremony of the Saliya Wewa police officers’ quarters he said that the international university built on a 1000 acre plot of land will have facilities for 50,000 local and foreign students.
The Minister who stressed the need to widen the scope for university education said the construction of the proposed international university would be completed within the next three years.
