Jaffna rape suspects re-remanded

The nine suspects who were arrested on charges of raping and killing the 18 year old student,  Sivaloganathan Viththiya, from Jaffna were further remanded until June 15 by the Kayts Magistrate V. Leninkumar today.

Kayts Police said three brothers among the suspects were also re-remanded. Security was tightened in and around Kayts today due to the court hearing.

Viththiya’s mother, relatives and TNA MP S. Shridharan were present at court today.(Romesh Madusanka)
