Four-year-old Damindu Yasen Ekanayake who was alleged to have been kidnapped on Sunday, has been rescued by a special Criminal Investigation Department team from the Galgamuwa area this evening, police said.

Police said that the child was found when he was left behind by the suspects along the road side at Alakolawewa, Abogama. Later the child was handed over to the parents. They said at least four suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction, including a relative of the Child’s father.
 

On Sunday, the boy was kidnapped by four unidentified men after assaulting his parents. Later several police teams were deployed to find the child.(Athula Bandara)
