Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Palitha Kohona, has rejected the charges filed against him at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Netherlands, media reports said.

The application claims that during the last days of Sri Lanka's civil war, dual Sri Lankan-Australian citizen Dr. Kohona was involved in the murder of three Tamil Tiger leaders who had already surrendered.

“I have no intention of dignifying this headline-grabbing effort of an element of the rump LTTE, an organization, which remains proscribed in most democracies, by responding to this request for an interview by the ABC,” Dr. Kohona told to Australia’s ABC News in a  statement.

The US-based group, Tamils Against Genocide brought the case forward.
