Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said the 29-year-old Immigration Department officer who works at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was detained yesterday.
“Our investigations revealed that he was providing false travel documents for people to enter and leave the country,” he said yesterday after attending the Police Stations League award ceremony.
He added that the 36-year-old Sri Lankan was detained for his dealings with the officer.
“We believe the officer has been providing the fake documents for several months now,” he said.
