The JVP had no issues with the present leader Somawansa Amarasingh, party’s General Secretary Tilvin Silva said today.
Responding to a query by the media about reports that plans were underway to appoint a new leader, Mr. Silva said that his party depended on the collective leadership instead of one individual right throughout.
“Nobody in the party has any issue with the leadership of Mr. Amarasinghe. The party has produced enough and more leaders. Unlike in other parties, we have the collective leadership,” he said.
Asked whether the leadership would be changed in the near future, he said, “If the party membership asks, we will act accordingly.”
