A group of opposition members of parliament have urged the government to launch a military operation to crush the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), a new militant group said to be operating in the East.
The Parliamentarians for Human Rights President Mano Ganeshan told a news conference that they have reliable evidence that the militant outfit is out to destroy opposition politicos including common opposition candidate General Sarath Fonseka, UNF leaders and the JVP leadership during the presidential election campaign.
