The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has seized cosmetic products from 67 salons and beauty parlours, as they were not suitable for use.

A statement from the Ministry of Cooperatives and internal Trade said the CAA carried out raids on 107 salons and beauty parlours after receiving complaints from the general public.

The Authority said legal action would be taken against the 67 salons and beauty parlours where the contaminated cosmetics were found, on a directive by Cooperatives and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando.
