Parties for curbing case

The parties in which the money laundering case against Asoka Thilakaratna, the mother of Dhanuna Thilakaratna, are considering for a mode of curbing the case without going for trial.

When the matter was taken up at the Colombo High Court State Counsel Riaz Bary submitted to the Courts in this regard.

Then High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundera ordered the prosecution and the defense in the case to inform court on March 28 their mode of curbing the case without going for trial.

Mrs. Thilakaratna is accused of retaining a sum of rupees 15 million of local currency, US $ 526 and Sterling pounds 100 in the locker rented out to Franciscuge Asoka Thilakaratna  at the Thimbirigasyaya Peoples Bank, without declaring and alleging for money laundering. ( Farook Thajudeen)
