Police look on as Muthuhettigama sings

Deputy Small Export Crops Promotion Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama who had allegedly taken away three suspects from Wanduramba Police custody had sung songs yesterday at a musical show conducted at the Udugama Public Stadium, villagers said.

 

The Police Media Spokesman Ajith Rohana said at a media briefing that he had made arrangement to get a statement from him regarding the removal of the suspects but that he had fled the area.

 

However Mutuhettigama had come on stage in Udugama at about 11.45 p.m. with a police escort and sung some songs and requested singer Deepal Silva to sing along with him. They had sung together and called for blessings on the president so that he would win.

 

A team of police officers from the Udugama and Galle Police Stations had been deployed at the musical show.(Janatha de Silva and Amila Madushanka)
