Wilgamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman J. Weerasekara has been hospitalised after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of people led by a UPFA parliamentarian.

He was assaulted during a meeting at Wilgamuwa in Kumbuk Oya where the setting up of branch organisations were being discussed.
