Qatar keen to invest in SL

Qatar investors have shown keen interest in participating in Sri Lanka's on going development activities, Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al-Thani said.

Our investors are willing to start super luxury hotels in Colombo and other tourist hotspots, the Qatar Prime Minister said during a bilateral meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the sidelines to the Democracy Forum IV in Bali yesterday.

A delegation from Qatar would leave to Sri Lanka soon to explore business opportunities in the country, the Prime Minister said.

During the meeting President Rajapaksa apprised the Qatar Prime Minister of the current situation in Sri Lanka.

President said Sri Lanka will await the Qatar Prime Minister and his delegation.

The Sri Lankan delegation at the discussion comprised Minister of External Affairs Prof. G. L. Peiris, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Governor of Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal. (Source: ISRIA)
