Ramaphosa makes brief landing at BIA

The flight carrying South Africa’s Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa made a brief landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport(BIA) for refuelling this morning.

Deputy President Ramaphosa and an entourage of Cabinet ministers were flying to Japan when their flight landed at the BIA for refuelling.

Mr. Ramaphosa was expected to hold discussions with Japanese Ambassador Yasushi Akashi on peace-building efforts, rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sri Lanka in his role as President Jacob Zuma's Special Envoy to Sri Lanka, foreign media reported.
