UNP claims Ranil’s vehicle attacked

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vehicle came under attack by a group protesting against an exhibition on Human Rights and the Implementation of LLRC recommendations being held at UNP headquarters Sirikotha today, UNP said.

Party sources said that vehicle had been slightly damaged and no harm had been caused to the UNP Leader.

Meanwhile a tense situation is reported outside Sirikotha where a large crowd is reported to have gathered in the protest campaign. Heavy traffic is also reported in Pagoda Road, Welikada Ethulkotte and Madiwela roads, police said.
